These Goalkeeper sessions are intended to introduce players to the basics of playing as a goalkeeper with an emphasis on learning safe technique and gaining confidence. Training is open to players of all levels and experience. This training is also open to players outside of regular ASTRA programming.

• Basic catching techniques 

• Basic diving techniques

• Footwork and body positioning

These Goalkeeper sessions are intended to target the core components of playing as a GK. Training is open to players of all levels and experience as the training can be adjusted and modified. This training is also open to players outside of regular ASTRA programming.

Each player is assigned a number on the first day of the camp and will play a series of short 4v4/5v5 games throughout the course of the session. After each game, points are allocated for wins, ties, shutouts, and individual goals. These points are recorded after each game and carry over to the next day. This format allows all players the opportunity to play with and against different opponents in each round as the teams are randomized based on the player’s assigned number. The constant changing of teams ensures all players are earning points for individual or team-based accomplishments.
